Those Who Wait

There is a Beth Moore video session from her study on Esther that gave light to the verse Isaiah 40:31:


but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
    they shall mount up with wings like eagles;

She was asking the Lord for a closing thought to tie up sesson 5 on Esther Chapter 5 where Queen Esther is waiting for the right time to ask the King to spare her people, the Jews, from a horrible decree he issued to have them all killed.

The lesson brought us here...

Wait on the Lord. Wait on Him. He is at work in your waiting. DO NOT WAIT ON THE EVENT. Our strength WILL be depleted if we wait on the event, but waiting on the Lord WILL renew our strength. 

Glory to God our Most High!

J-Bugs

Well it's happened again, I've given one of my children a ridiculous nick-name that will probably warp into yet another more ridiculous nick-name. When Judah was born, he was such a little bug. Not really though, he was longer than David, but I guess .8 oz. lighter. In our hospital room, I called his little newborn self Judah Bug. Now, after 8 weeks, he's morphed into J-Bugs.

Takes me back to David's beloved nick-name 'Boodie'. Somewhere between 6 wks and 6 months (it's a blur!) I committed to calling David, 'Buddy'. That morphed into 'Buddy Boy', 'Buddy Baby', 'Little Boodie Baby', 'Boodie'. I still call him Boodie whenever I can, but try to stick with the nick name of 'D' for his sake. We did have lots of fun with 'Boodie' while it lasted. One very fun visit to Nashville, D's Mimi and Grandpa G were playing with him while singing, 'Shake that Bootie'!

From the Mountains to the Valleys...

Saturday night was the 2012 Miss America Pageant and I confess - I watched just about the whole thing. Poor Bronco's were loosing so badly to the Patriots that Tripp let us flip back and forth. There was just something special about TV this night. Tripp and I were caught completely off guard by this precious commercial:

Then at the start of the pageant, they eliminated at least 2/3 from the running. Before announcing the remaining 3 finalists, the host extended her microphone to Miss Colorado, Diana Dreman. She asked her what dialogue was happening in her head in these last moments. Diana replied (paraphrased), "It's in God's hands and this is all for Him."

TV is perhaps the last place I expect to see my Christian brothers and sisters talking about the Lord. And sometimes due to the disparity in the entertainment industry that so snugly surrounds us, I wonder where are the redeemed? More often, I'm blessed with stories of life-changing conversions by my sister in Christ and African missionary, Christina. When I sing the song, 'Hear Our Praises', I imagine peaks in Asia or valleys in Africa and nations like Uganda or India with voices crying out to Jesus. I tried to do more online research to verify Diana Dreman's faith to no avail. So, I'm taking her at her word and encouraged that there are praises on TV from the Rockies.

The video below is from Hillsong with Darlene dancing and singing her heart out. Some may feel uncomfortable watching this video because of some of the corruption that's turned Christian worship into another entertainment industry. I've got to say, I love Hillsong enough to look past the lights and suits - Glory to God for these anthems of truth.

The Lord has overwhelmed me today with thoughts of His beauty and our eternity with Him! While working on a financial display booth project my pandora pulled up this song and I had to share. Just as real as my delicious cup of coffee and deadlines are the biblical truths that say I will see Jesus. I will arrive on eternity's shore and it will be beautiful. Glory to God!

Bee-boppin' and Burgers

The other night, we strolled to 5 guys for some juicy burgers. David loved the burgers, but maybe even more, loved the music.

New Hair and Baby Einstein

If you've spent time with me and David in the past month or so, you'll know that we equally love Baby Einstein. I have my sister to thank for introducing it to us when David was a wee baby. Similar to other wonderful baby toys like the jumperoo or exersaucer, Baby Einstein guarantees at least 20 minutes of focused entertainment for David. For me, that means I can accomplish one thorough task and today it was dishes!

In other news, Tripp gave David a stylin' haircut on Saturday. Have a look at the new little man!
