Coffee Nook

I've been blessed to be a Small Group host for a good bit of time which now has me thinking... I need a coffee nook. In Taiwan, families would keep a rice cooker on near their dining room table regardless of proximity to kitchen. Rice went with meals, meals happened at the big table, thus rice cooker must accompany table. Coffee goes with company, company hangs out in family room, thus coffee maker must accompany family room.

I've been looking through Pinterest and google in the attempts to find visuals of coffee nooks, with little success. The idea that came to my mind was that of a hutch entirely devoted to coffee and tea near an outlet I could feed wires to. Here are some pictures I've found thus far... eh. Suggestions?!

Target Blue and White - Success!

I've finally found a great blue-white pillow for the living room! Turned out to be in the outdoor section - where often the fresher patterns live.

I've been frequenting Target the last two weeks picking up decor for work. I tell you, Target for the frugal city folk and Target for the extravagantly endowed North suburban folk are no different. I walk out of each glazed over and carrying more than I meant to purchase. Made a lot of returns, and if you can manage getting in between 9 and 5, there's no wait at customer service. Love it. Thanks Target for a universal and budget-disarming experience!

Target Blues!

Truly, Target and I have the blues! I keep telling myself that once I find the perfect blue throw pillows at Target, I'm buying them! No matter what the price... well, as you can see it's blue season at Target! And now it's time to make some decisions while the blues are in stock.

One thought would be to buy either the placemat and rework it into a pillow? Or maybe get the fabric shower curtain and sew that into a pillow? As you can see, I'm definitely trying for the best price. Guess I could look at actual fabric too...

Modern Barn

Thanks to full house blogger (see right) I think I've found a definition for my favorite decorating style 'modern barn'. Chic eh? Now, I would just add a little more color and then this place would be move-in ready.

Logo of the week - black and white

In a search for 'hug logo' because I get to make one today, I found this:

Which makes me think that I may try to find a 'logo of the week' for our viewing pleasure here... Tune in next Wednesday and we'll see if this is a good idea.

Okay, and what better than a cute decor pic to accompany a black and white logo? Don't interior and identity design go hand in hand?! Love this black and white print on the chair. So chic. Don't think I could pull this off...

Working on the computer...

... can be so distracting! I google 'sunbursts' looking for graphic inspiration for a logo I'm working on, and what appears but beautiful decorating blogs! I have now also searched 'Parisian chic' and bumped into this full house blog for a second time! So, it's fate and now that I'm distracted, I just have to share...

I've been trying to get a cozy vision for David's room decor. So far, it's a chocolate baby cave and I'm feeling I'd like to go a more vintage timeless direction. I mentioned to my friend and fellow blogger, Clair, that I was considering map wallpaper and she sent me a bunch of great ideas! I think I'll flip the bed, so the head board's in front of the window. And that window wall will have the map wallpaper. Thoughts?
