A Beautiful Baby Bobbitt Shower

Saturday, September 22, we celebrated my sister Lindsay's little baby girl due to arrive mid-December! She's an adorable little pregnant lady and showered her guests with notes of love. Before gift time, Lindsay gave each woman in attendance a notecard with an encouraging word on how she's been touched by their lives. My sweet feisty little sister is now a thoughtful, intentionally loving mother.

Cherri, Lindsay's mother in law and one of my favorite women, hosted and decorated so beautifully! Note the lemons and limes in the vases as well as the buckets of cupcakes. The experience of celebrating this little girl together was nothing short of lovely.

Lucky for us all my Auntie Cheryle, who pours out love for her nieces, was also able to join the party from Arizona. She was Judah's snuggle buddy and teamed up with mom to give Lindsay her very favorite gift - the BOB jogger. Auntie Cheryle stayed 2 weeks so we got to spend lots of quality time together. Between chasing after David and feeding Judah that is.

J-Bugs

Well it's happened again, I've given one of my children a ridiculous nick-name that will probably warp into yet another more ridiculous nick-name. When Judah was born, he was such a little bug. Not really though, he was longer than David, but I guess .8 oz. lighter. In our hospital room, I called his little newborn self Judah Bug. Now, after 8 weeks, he's morphed into J-Bugs.

Takes me back to David's beloved nick-name 'Boodie'. Somewhere between 6 wks and 6 months (it's a blur!) I committed to calling David, 'Buddy'. That morphed into 'Buddy Boy', 'Buddy Baby', 'Little Boodie Baby', 'Boodie'. I still call him Boodie whenever I can, but try to stick with the nick name of 'D' for his sake. We did have lots of fun with 'Boodie' while it lasted. One very fun visit to Nashville, D's Mimi and Grandpa G were playing with him while singing, 'Shake that Bootie'!

Bums

We've got lazy bums staying in bed and beach bums heading off to the lakeshore this morning. Call me (Laura) the coffee bum, going to sit down with some scripture while things are quiet.

Beach Time Photoshoot

Went to the beach at Albion last Friday and had a glorious time. It takes lots of patience and devotion to the plan to get 3 children and two sets of parents out the door and down the street - I thank God for the strength!

The photo shoot here reflects the season of parenting my brother & sister in law and I have entered. Toddlerhood is squirmy and hard to get a handle on in every way! I've got a few tricks up my sleeve by now to get David to have a good day, and one of them is the beach : )
